m²

Season

Nitrogen-heavy starter feeding after the winter break for fast growth (e.g. NPK 20-5-8).

g/m²

Assumption, typical range in Spring: 25–35 g/m² – the packaging is decisive

%

First number of the NPK figure on the packaging, e.g. 20 for “20-5-8”.

For 100 m² at 30 g/m² (Spring) you need 3 kg of fertilizer – containing 600 g of pure nitrogen.

Total pure nitrogen
600 g
Pure nitrogen per m²
6 g/m²
How this was calculated
m = 100 m² × 30 g/m² ÷ 1.000 = 3 kg
N = 30 g/m² × 20% = 6 g/m²

What you can do

  • Assumption: at most 4–6 g of nitrogen per m² per feeding

    Common practice, not a standard – the packaging takes precedence. With a higher annual requirement, spread it over several applications to avoid scorch damage.
