Water volume

27m³

27

Your pool holds 27 m³ – that is 27,000 litres. For maintenance, dose about 39 g (Chlorine with 70% active ingredient); for shock chlorination 195 g.

How this was calculated
A = 6 × 3 = 18 m²
V = 18 m² × 1.5 m = 27 m³
Chlorine = 1 g/m³ × 27 m³ ÷ 70 % = 39 g

Volume = surface area × depth. Chlorine: 1 mg/l equals 1 g per m³ of water, divided by the active ingredient content; for shock chlorination we assume five times the amount (assumption, not a standard).

What you can do

  • Keep free chlorine at

    Assumption: 0.5–2 mg/l (ppm) for private pools. There is no standard for private pools; DIN 19643 only applies to public pools. Follow the instructions on your chlorine product.

  • Check the pH

    Assumption: 7–7.4 (ideal 7.2) – common practice for effective chlorine, not a standard for private pools.

  • Evaporation: approx. 54–126 litres per day

    Assumption: in summer about 3–7 mm of water level evaporates per day, depending on sun, wind and cover – top up regularly.
